Regardless of the wash cycle chosen, I need to manually advance the dial through each cycle. I start in the wash cycle and let it agitate for a few minutes. The dial does not advance at all. I then turn it to the drain cycle and let it drain and spin. Then I advance it to the rinse cycle; let it fill and agitate again. Advance it to the spin cycle and then finally turn it off. Timer Switch?

It sounds like the escapement in the timer is broken. You need to replace the timer (part number 3954449, priced around $ 110.00 from Sears. Check with your local appliance parts store to see if they have it in stock.

I'm not familiar with that model, but most washers have a little clock/gear motor that actually advances the unit between cycles. If it's a newer washer I would guess it's all built into the selector switch assembly.
