I cannot turn them off since they are on a light sensor.

You can't.

You won't be able to keep 100% of all bugs away from exterior lighting all the time, but the use of yellow "bug lights" helps. Most (but not all) bugs don't see light in the yellow spectrum, and are therefore not attracted to them like they are to white. The best combination is yellow lights in your exterior fixtures where you must be in close proximity to them, and a good quality flying insect killer (bug zapper) about 30 to 50 feet away, or brighter white lights at a distant location if an insect killer is not available. If your lights use weatherproof flood light bulbs (PAR 38 type), those are also available in yellow as well.

Just about every store has "bug lites" that are yellow so that they are invisible to bugs. I just bought some regular size bulbs at Wal-Mart and they are working for me. If they are flood lights or spot light bulb you might have better luck finging them at The Home Depot or Lowe's

Try using yellow lights. They work well.
