Presently , how good are ridgid power tools? Like are far as power, fast, torque? I looking for power tools for my job.

I'm a ground/maintenance guy for a townhouse complex of 200 units along with 5 other guys who are obsessed with ryobi's lithium stuff! Thing is I wanna be different and have my own stuff cause the job brought them the ryobi stuff. I currently own a ryobi compact drill! I love it cause of the power. But I want my own tools that are better.

My maintenance job consists of remodeling townhouses that people have moved out of and that need to be made ready for another family or person to move into! Anywhere from 1-3 bedrooms ! Stuff like painting, replacing drywall, cutting pipes, replacing floors and trim. Install light fixtures. Etc. my grounds job consists of repairs or making fences, wooden ramps, and wooden porches! You get the point. I need something that is made for heavy constant work.
Workers use ryobi because that's what the work gives us. And it seems to do them well. But from what I heard from other people ridgid is better and more powerful and that ryobi sucks.
I don't know. Both have kits I wAnt ! But I want to know which is better for what I do.

Seems to me, if the work place if providing you with Ryobi for free, why buy your own tools? It would be different if all the workers needed to buy their own tools and you wanted a different brand so you could tell if one of the other guys had swiped any of yours.

Since most of your work seems to be in already-existing buildings, electricity would presumably be available and might reduce the need for the battery-operated tools (which I have found to be wimpier than the corresponding plug-in versions and the extra hassle of batteries always seeming to go dead at the worst possible time).

Maybe try the provided tools first, and once you have been on the job for a while, you can determine if you need to up-grade so something beefier than what they provide or not.

One fact no one has mentioned is that Ridgid cordless tools have a lifetime warranty on the batteries. What this means to you is that you will never have to purchase batteries in the future once they have reached their max cycle rate. You do have to properly register the tool, charger and batteries within 90 days of original purchase date for the warranty to activate. If you purchase your Ridgid tools at Home Depot, when the batteries no longer hold a charge you just take the entire kit to any store that has a rental center and they will test everything for you. If indeed the batteries are dead, they replace them there on the spot. No mailing, etc. Over the life of the tools this can potentially save you hundreds of dollars over the other brands available.

Ridgid cordless power tools are manufactured by the same company that manufactures Ryobi and Sears Craftsman. The name of the company is TTI, a Chinese conglomerate. TTI also bought the Milwaukee label.

DeWalt is the standard for the serious professional.

Ryobi, Makita, ridgid, craftsman, even snap-on are all the same tool. they are fine for the light duty use you are describing. Milwaukee and dewalt would be a step up from there. they produce light duty and medium duty tools. Hilti is far and away the most serious cordless power tool you can buy. also much more expensive.

if you want to buy good stuff then visit the local Sears Store and talk to the sales people in the tool department === they have good brands as well as the store label of Craftsman which I have use for 50 years === DeWalt and Milwalkee are top stuff == Ryobi is good if the boss buys and will replace when worn out [[ sounds like a deal to me ]] just remember that you get the quality that you pay for ................
