Today we had the heat on to about 80, when we woke up we realized our heat wasnt working, it was because the maintnance man was tearing out the old boiler system and replacing it with a new one. Is it possible that carbon monoxid could have got in our apartment seems how we had our heat on???? My boyfriend is dizzy, nausious, with a headache, ever since this afternoon, when they started??WHat do you think?

With a boiler heating system in the building, you have only hot water pipes providing heat in your unit, so there's no flame in your unit to generate carbon monoxide.

If your boyfriend is dizzy, nauseated (not "nausious" - no such word, and not "nauseous", which means -causing- nausea), with a headache, there could be other reasons. One possibility is a migraine headache, which can be brought on by different things for different people. If it persists, see a doctor. A blood test can confirm carbon monoxide poisoning.

The gas-fired boiler must be properly vented according to NFPA 54.The carbon monoxide reading must be 50 ppm or less when the circulator is running.

Maybe ask some other residents if they feel the same way. Plus if you're concerned about it in the future, you can get an inexpensive carbon-monoxide alarm.

tell him to lay off the booze. Might be dehydrated from the extra heat.

Probably, unless it is vented well. If not; I suggest you move.
