Easily. It's a common occurrence here in the desert to find termites. Exterminators not only treat, but offer warranties with annual inspections. Rest assured, it's a fixable problem.

Two types of termites are common. The subterranean and Formosan termites account for most damage on housing. Not all chemicals will work on Formosan termites. So I would use only an insecticide that has been bought with an pesticide license. Termidor WG works on both of these termites and has a long chemical life after applied. I would call a professional to treat the home. Terminx will be higher so start with local private owner if possible. The square foot of house and size of infestation depends on price. Doing the work by yourself can be exhausting and pointless if not treated proficiently. Treat all of the house, spot treatments may fix the problem now but in the future the house may still be venerable for termite activity.

There are a few products that you can buy at hardware stores, but it's best to get a professional--too risky not to--I learned the hard way.

yes, you can get someone to come out & take care of them, & them have them come out once a year to re-fill what they did the 1st time.
