i need to peel off paint from a wall. what is the easiest way to do it ?

some kind of foul paint lies on an interior wall of mine
i want ot remove it or alternatively remove the foul smell.
what is the best way to do it.
the paint is not loose.

How old is the house? You might want to get a lead paint test kit before you start sanding and scraping. If you dont want to fool with removing the paint and the wall is in good shape, you may want to put a coat of Kilz on the wall. It is a stain and odor blocking paint product.
