We've just moved house and have a Newteam 8.5 electric shower in the bathroom. The pressure is like a hamster peeing on you! I don't want to have to fork out and replace it as lacking funds after moving house. It looks in good condition and all that and the low pressure light doesn't light up when on but there is next to no pressure. I am a big shower person and need more. Anyone know what I might need to do?

I've tried silly things like running the bath tap at the same time and that ... It is turned on by a switch on the airing cupboard - should I be turning it on a little while earlier to let it power up maybe?

any advice would be great, thanks :)

There are several simple things you could try to improve the pressure:

1. Locate the main stop tap for the incoming water supply and ensure that it is fully open.

2. Electric showers generally have a filter on the supply side of the shower, make sure this is clean and not restricted.

3. Check the shower head and make sure that the flow from it is not restricted by a build up of limescale.

4. Try turning the temperature control on the shower down and see if the flow increases - if it does you may be getting the best you are going to get!

Why it's important to have a home inspection..A quality home inspector would have caught this, and you could have had the previous owner fix it.
