Hi all, Ariens 824 cranks, no spark. The spark plug wire runs behind the flywheel and I assume the magneto is back there. how do I remove the flywheel to get back there to look? (btw, I already checked the 'on' switch) any advice?

Remove all the covers until you come to the flywheel. On the flywheel you see the magnet. Also you see magneto coil. If you are sure the coil is faulty, then replace it with a known working unit.
Set the gap to 0.010" or use an old film negative as they are 0.010". Replace the covers and away you go.

The fly wheel has a nut on it then you need take off a washer that requires a special tool to take it off. Actually the magneto is on the fly wheel. It has a magnet on it then there is another magnet which the spark plug wire is hooked up to. I think the magnet that has the wire on it is the magneto.
If you can read the manual for the engine and see how to take it apart.
