I have old steel plumbing now. I am moving washer and dryer to a new location where I had to install new hot and cold water lines. Copper kinks to easy, even flexible coils. Can I use PEX Tubing instead of copper? Does hot water get to hot for PEX? PEX is only good for 200 degrees. I am not a plumber and have no license. Trying to save money by doing it myself. I have alot of common sense knowledge.

If the only thing that drove you away from copper pipe is sweating the pipe,

Then go to lowes or local plumbing shop and ask for connector call "Shark bite" or no sweat copper pipe connector.

All you need now is just a copper pipe cutter , tape measure and copper pipe clamp to anchor the pipe down.

You are set. on the last connection to the washing machine hose. you can use threaded water valves .

and you don't need propane torch or sweating pipe at all.

much more durable than PEX.

Pex is an acceptable tubing for both hot and cold domestic water. Code in almost 50 states. Be sure an insulate the hot water line to save energy. Good luck!

You can use pex piping anywhere you want, the tool is pricey Id advise you to use the fittings that just push on.there called shark bite.they have the tees male and female Adapters.every thing you need Maynard's carries the stuff.Temperature is not an issue in residential applications.

Pex does come in three colors white, red, & blue. The only difference is in the color. Its made in colors to make it easier to hook up so one doesn't get the hot and cold mixed up when running the water lines

pex is fine for this the average home water heater is set at 120 degrees any hotter than that and someone would get scalded.
