We have had a Glacier Bay kitchen faucet, model 785-564, for about a year. For no apparent reason today, when the handle is pushed back to make the water hot or warmer, the faucet just shuts off. It is a gradual shut off as you push the handle back. This model is a gooseneck pull down sprayer style with one handle, one connection. We replaced the cartridge to no avail. We took out the regulator ball in the check valve in the black hose going to the pull out hose after contacting Glacier Bay just before they closed tonight and was told to do so. Still no good. Any ideas?

If I am correct in reading your question I would have to say that you have no hot water at the faucet. Cold side fine... turn it hotter and hotter and the faucet needs less and less cold but no hot is being added... go all the way hot and nothing.

That being the case I would first make sure that your hot water pipe is not frozen. Disconnect your supply hose from the valve and turn the valve on under the sink to see if you have any water at the valve. If you don`t then you can eliminate the faucet as having something wrong with it and focus on why no hot water.

If you think it may be frozen DO NOT sleep on it and wait til morning! do something now to thaw it out. If you dont, odds are you will be awoken by the sound of running water when the pipe bursts.

Word of caution... Sometimes the pipe will freeze and crack and stay frozen. If this is the case when you thaw it out the water will start to leak.

Just a back up of hot water pressure. The relief valve isn't working. It is not a big deal. If you want to search the relief valve out, it's a 2 person job, you could figure it out.
