We have a clawfoot bathtub with a faucet that looks alot like this:

We have a personal shower, with a standard female threaded shower connection. Is there a way to put an adapter on the clawfoot faucet to make it possible to connect the handheld shower directly to the faucet?

I'd say it can be done but not with an adaptor rather with a clamping type system but it won't be much to look at.

I've never seen an adapter, but if your shower hose is plastic you can cut an end off, slide the end over the faucet and secure it with a hose clamp. Not incredibly pretty, but a small hose clamp turned the right way is not very visible, won't come off, and they come in stainless so they don't rust.
