Use Oil base paint and do not forget to sand and clean before paint. Also do not forget to buy paint thinner because you will need that to clean up after paint.

Technically, you can paint just about anything if you use the right products. To paint a pre-painted aluminum door, you will need to add a new layer of primer since the new paint won't properly stick to the existing paint. If you really want to do this, which I don't recommend, you'll need to: 1. Remove all the hardware, handles, glass, rubber, screens, etc, from the door itself, or mask/tape them all to prevent paint from getting on them. 2. Apply a coat of primer. For a very smooth coat, use a spray can (but you'll need several cans) or rent a sprayer. Lay the door flat (do NOT paint the door standing up). Move very slowly about 6-10 inches away from the door, covering every surface you intend to paint. Don't spray too much in one place, or it will run or puddle. Wait for the primer to dry. 3. Apply a 2 or 3 THIN coats of your preferred color, also by sprayer if possible. Let each coat dry the minimal time before applying the next coat, which means it 'dries' but doesn't cure. To get good results from a spray can requires patience, a steady hand, and more patience. Renting a sprayer can provide better results but will cost more, as well as needing more time to learn how to use the sprayer. Using a brush will result in brush strokes showing in the finish which will look 'odd' on a screen door. You don't need special paint for aluminum, since you will not actually be applying paint to bare metal. Good Luck! P.S. I'd just pick a white door with mostly glass/screen inserts, then the color almost becomes irrelevent. White goes with everything.

First clean all of the aluminum with white vinegar. Then use either spray paint for aluminum or the previously mentioned primer and paint. If you use metal primer you can top coat with latex based paint.
