I Have a Philco (Ford) frigde, I'm not sure what year, most likely a 1977. Model # RS14B3G. It's the kind that has the freezer in side the fridge. The problem I'm having is that the fridge keeps frosting up big time. the little plastic door can barely close. I have to keep chipping the frost away. How can I stop this?

Dear, I hate to tell you this, but if I were you I'd get off the dime and invest in a frost-free. Unless you can figure a way to keep the freezer door shut. But in the long run, you'll appreciate a frost-free more (and believe me, th' little missus will, too)

Air is getting inside the ref past the seals causing rapid condensation of humidity on the freezer coils and thus ice build up. Need to replace the seal but you won't find one for a Philco. Will have to buy generic and make it fit. Or upgrade the ref, that thing is ready for the museum.

I would get it serviced. It may be as simple as replacing the gasket around the door. If it no longer seals tightly frost will form in the freezer.

without adoubt you r seal is bad on the door leaving warm air to enter the freezer causing it to freeze up
