Of course you can. Its quick and cheep. You don't need the expensive drill etc and it is a better fixing than the screws . All double glazier fitters fix in this way. Be care full only spray in small amounts all the way round as it does expand to a huge volume. Hold the can upside down and spray if some does get on the window/frame DO NOT TOUCH IT wait until it has gone off then pull it or cut it off. Last thing is to use a plastic guttering cleaner to wipe off any marks. Job done more time for you to go down the pub lol.
If you dont believe me just try it and those cretins giving it a thumbs down have never done so or are diy morons or work in I.T or g.ay
Come on !!!!!!!!!!!! i want at least 10 thumbs down get your friends to vote

I would recommend using the screws as you were planning. Be careful what spray foam you pun in the opening. The regular spray foam will expand so much that it will eventually bind your window up and make it a real pain to open. Go to the hardware store and get the spray foam that is for doors and windows. I hope this helps Good Luck!

The window frame requires to be fixed, by means of masonry screws, to the brick structure. You can then fill the gaps around the side with expanding foam, if you wish, but this alone will NOT hold it in place.

An upvc window can be fixed with screws. But is better to fix it with a window expert. http://www.awpwindows.com

No, and thieves can gain access by sawing around the frame too.
Screw into structure and draught-seal with foam.

Not that securely , Needs screws into brick surround . OK to draught-proof with filler .
