Priced at $789 this 10 HP portable generator provides 5,550 running watts and 8,550 starting watts of power. It can run up to 13 hours at 50% output capacity. It comes with five convenient outlets, so you can easily hook up TV's, stereos, coffee pots, heaters, laptops, and more. For a generator that puts out this much power t is surprisingly quieter thanks to it's patented Super Silencer muffler that eliminates sparking and makes this generator quieter than any in its class. I have a Briggs&Stratton 5500 watt generator and very pleased with it. It connects to a transfer panel to provide backup power for my home as needed. It powers everything from the well pump to the television and computer without a problem.

B&S have been in business a long time and have a very good parts and service network if needed. They may not be the top brand engine, but are reliable and work well provided they are given proper care and maintenance. Make sure you get something with a wheel kit! It can be a major pain to move a generator without wheels.

Read through my generator pages for other information on connection and use.

I have one, they are not the best engine made though.

It will run great for what you need. I have a couple used 8hrs a day for years and they still run. easy to find parts. Look for the new briggs engine that looks like a honda. It's actually a mitsubishi design and starts easy too.

yes Briggs are the best engine made,

if 2700 watts are all you need get a 6,000 watt size

with a 6 hr run time

so you wont over load it,

with a low oil shut off feature
