Last night my dryer didn't go on. The timer was ticking, I checked the latches, but it wouldn't "turn over" so to speak - kind of like a car with a dead battery - there were problems with the timer before (it doesn't shut off automatcially, just goes on forever until someone stops it) - is it possible that the dryer not starting because of a timer issue?

It may also be a blown fuse in your panel. There may be four separate fuses in one block that runs your dryer.
