Make your own spreadsheet. We sell and repair power tools, so we know what you are up against. There is a lot of job theft on construction sites. I would have the tools be signed out and number the tool with a permanent marker - number the batteries that go with all the cordless tools. You should have to sign out a tool when you use it, and your company should stand behind you if someone loses a tool - they should replace it.

Make your foreman or lead person on the crew know that he/she is responsible for tools their people check out of the tool crib.

There are bar coding software, & bar code reader. The bar codes similar to the store purchases work on your tools too. Then on the program, works like a data base that you can format what ever you want.

I don't know of any such available, but you should look into Microsoft Works, there are tons of forms and spreadsheets you could probably adapt to your needs.

Maybe you could get someone in your office with knowledge of the program to whip something up for you.

You will need to build one for your own equipment. Each type needs a separate time and use cycle. You also need to comply with your state L&I and OSHA compliance. You might try those web sites for suggestions and maybe a program from them or a training site for a safety maintenance log would help.

Good luck, there is so much gear in use by each contractor on every job site that it is demanding under taking. You might find some suggestions from a ship maintenance log on how that is set up. You'll need to include the manufacturers recommended scedule.

Your attempt is good, but unless you have a check in and check out tool room many of the small hand tools and battery operated units will not get tracked. Maybe a bar code reader and barcodes on each item will help.
