Question:
Can you tell me how many amps and volts are running off this breaker box?

On most homes i usually see 1 main breaker. On this specific breaker box there are two. It says 200 on each breaker with one single tab handle.
Question 1, does this mean i have 400 amps? or is it 200 amps
Question 2, is it necessary to hire an electrician to update this old home breaker box

thank you

Police stop you at checkpoint to check if you’re chipped (aka vaccinated)

Police check the car; let's say 4 people car but signal only from 3; so, police stop it to chip the notyetchipped; signal from 4 now and police let the car go. This is prophecy by saint Vyacheslav Krasheninnikov. Notice police chip (aka vaccinate) people at gun point in Africa; so, no more "it's not gonna happen here" 'cuz it will soon enough, capisce?

Police do it on highways or when you leave your city... basically, you can't leave your city unless you're vaccinated; but vaccine = mark of the beast; so, escape now while your city doesn't have these rules; forgive me.

Gov't sprays chemtrails so that people feel symptoms of flu

5G will kill vaccinated; just read GeorgiaGuidestones' commandment of 500 million max population on earth; it fits with OrthodoxChristian prophecy of 7 percent of people left

Russian Orthodox prophecy also says that there will be unbearable stench in winter. So, there you go. Russian winters are cold. So, they must have died from the new disease that doesn't have a name 'cuz it's caused by 5G.

martial law; Constitution was suspended; New World Order

read Book of Revelation; Chapters 13 and 14, please

chipped people will be influenced by super computers to receive World Passport (grey plastic card with no name on it), but when they stretch their hands to get it, gov't clerk presses secret button to administer the unforgivable green 666 tattoo by isotope rays

If you escape mark of the beast, then your direct ancestors go to permanent heaven

how to escape it? by hiding within a small group (10 - 15 people according to saints Gabriel Urgebadze and Seraphim of Sarov); no documents; no electronics

Project Pogo = Alex Jones, QAnon, Adam Green, etc. videos are put out so that gov't tracks who watches them. (Project Zyphr annihilates people who watch these videos). Drone with scopolamine will drill a hole in your window at 4 am. Once gassed, you will come out to the police van (waiting for you outside) yourself; you will be taken to underground camp to be tortured for adrenochrome. The rest of the people will be secretly (or even openly) chipped when they sign up for food in closed stores

AI (artificial intelligence aka demons) will post on your social media as if it were you doing it while you're on vacation; it will even make phone calls on behalf of you; no one will notice that you're missing in action.

I only see ONE main circuit breaker.

It happens to be a 2-pole circuit breaker.

That means that 120-0-120 enters the panel, and both 120 volts and 240 volts are available.

48,000 watts are available.

A1:  200 amps.

A2:  Since you don't have a clue, just leave it alone. If it ain't broke, don't fix it!  What's there to update?

Many new rules apply so it will likely cost you a few thousand dollars.

The main breaker (top) is 200 amp 240 volts.  Each of the breakers on each side are rated at 15 or 20amps at 120 volts.  Any 30, 40, or 50 amp breakers are double tapped at 240 volts.  If you do not need to add any circuits then I would leave the breaker panel alone.  Any alteration would most likely trigger a full upgrade with GFCI and AFCI protection and hardwired smoke detectors.

Nothing special and no cause for alarm here. It is a typical 200A 240/120V single phase panel. The sloppy documenting methods tends to hurt visual first impression, but no way to tell by looking at this picture if it needs to be changed.

Like most residential single phase panels it is capable of delivering 200A on each of the two opposing 120V legs of power (or really the two halves of the 240V power) making a total of 400A @ 120V, but the typical naming convention is to describe the amps at the highest voltage configuration available at the panel. The construction of the main breaker on this panel does show the two hot legs it disconnects, some brands it is less obvious, but functionally the same.

It looks like there are maybe some mixed brands of breakers, which would be a definite UL/CSA/ETL violation, but that's correctable. It's impossible to tell from a picture whether it has been heavily loaded or subject to other environmental conditions that would call for change. If it has suffered damage and needs to be replaced most jurisdictions in the US allow a homeowner to (attempt to) change it themselves, but pretty sure from the question (no offense intended) you would probably need to hire an electrician.

no cant tell , has to see it first , can be 1,000 amps total , or it could be 3 phrase , 2 phrase or single phrase , all use 110 volts , just how many cables to run it , well as i said it could be a 110 supply or a 300 volt supply . your an amatuer arent you ..

It is a real, real old 200 amp breaker box. Get rid of it.  For one reason you need more space for the service circuits.  You need more than 30 spaces.  And while you are changing things out, run 100 amp service out of this box to a sub panel breaker box over on the other side of the house.  So that you can add circuits on that side of the house that you have never thought about.  Check your old wiring.  The wiring itself could be inadequate, may be even aluminum.

Its 200 amps. Some older boxes have a main breaker that has 1 pole but technically there double poled as they have 2 120 volt lines coming threw them.

An yes if you want to upgrade the panel you'll need a electrician. If your talking about replacing the panel.  They will have to kill the power at the meter so they can unhook the main line in panel.

It probably won't hurt to have that panel checked with all those piggyback breakers in there I'd say it possible a former homeowner possible did some work.  So it wouldn't hurt to make sure the right amp breakers where used compared to the wire gauge.  If its all ok then that panel should be fine unless your needing more power.

200 amp box -- 220 volts.  I see that the box is full and some of the slots have a double breaker in them [two circuits].  This makes me think that more circuits and breakers have been added by past homeowners -- and, therefore, that the total load across all circuits may be near the 200 amp limit. {There are websites that will help you calculate the target main breaker size, given the uses of electricity in the house.}

*** Yes, it is legal in most areas to do your own electrical work.

*** NO -- it probably isn't a good idea to undertake replacing the breaker box and main breakers.  Among other tasks, you have to remove the electrical meter in order to safely remove the box -- and the electric company won't be happy if you do that [requires breaking their seal, which is their assurance that you haven't been stealing electricity.]  The right way to do this job is quite a bit of WORK and requires that power be off during the entire period -- minimizing that time period requires a workman with experience [and, I take it, that does not describe you].

-- grampa  [yes, my box is in similar stuffed full condition.  yes, I added all the 'extra' circuits myself.  no, I'm not contemplating upgrading the box myself -- seems like a job for an electrician with skills beyond my own.]

It's a 200 amp.

Unless your are qualified to check it out ...It would be a great idea to have an electrician sort through the breakers and properly tag them.

its a 200 amp breaker

in my neck of the woods its legal to do your own electrical work on your own property
