Umm my mom told me to copy a key at the local store, since Im on holiday today. I want to ask, do I require the following things? (not a Do Not Copy Key)
- 18 years old
- permission paper / letter / signature
- Answer to Questions the store staff might ask
- Identity Proof
- Call from parent to verify

Do I need those? Thanks for reading, and hope you can answer my question. :D First time, not sure.

I have never* been asked to provide any kind of documentation when getting a key copied. You need money and a key, and someone with a key cutting machine. That's it.

* Medeco, Medeco Keymark, and certain other patent-protected key patterns have tightly controlled permission paradigms; if your key is one of those then you will not be able to get a copy made unless you are one of the controlling authorities of record for that key.

It's assumed you are the owner of the key when you do this, the key maker has done nothing illegal by copying your key, just go in to the hardware store and you'll be out in two seconds.
