We suspect something might be clogging it since someone in our house has been using powder soap.
Its a washer that takes liquid soap and has the door on the front, rather than the top.

Should we just let it run and maybe put some DRAIN O in the soap chamber and in the main clothes chamber for a little?

Or do we have to do something more professional?

Does it only make the noise when draining? If so, sounds like the pump is bad. It can have dried soap in it that can cause the seals to go bad. Water has got into the sealed part and cause rust to build up. If you know nothing about fixing it, CALL a repair service. If you think you can fix, look up on internet and research until you fill comfortable doing it.

Do not put draino in the soap dispenser unless you want to ruin the washer. nsead, take off the lower front panel and clean out the lint trap. Be prepare for the water that will come out. It you have a shop vac try and suck all the water out of the basket you ca first. Get lots of towel to catch the rest of the water that will come out when you turn the trap. Good luck. If you need more help I need a model number.

Go to www.repairclinic.com and pick out the type of washer that you have and go through the questions on the page and it will give you an idea of what the problem might be.

Let me know when you find out my Kenmore has been grinding for 4 months. It started one week after warranty ended. Murphy's Law. Thank You
