Which is better for sealing cracks to keep bugs out: caulk or Great Stuff foam?

When should I choose one over the other?

The whole bit?

Great Stuff for big gaps, available with insecticide included: http://www.homedepot.com/p/GREAT-STUFF-16-oz-Pestblock-Insulating-Foam-Sealant-11034540/203282346

Locktite's Polyseamseal for smaller cracks, paintable and OK for both inside and outside use.

Start outside, and get on it right now. That's where the bugs are - and it helps reduce air transfer.

For a known problem area, squirt an actual insecticide in first, like Home Defense.

Outside, be sure to check around pipe and cable entry points, and freshen up the duct seal there, aka "thumb gum". Electrical, gas, water, dryer vent, CATV, etc.

i like great stuff. It covers more area than caulk. but you d have to paint it so that sunlight (UV) does not hit it.
